Who gets to use the 5” of space at the end of the separating walls?

Well, legally you both get 2.5 inches, but we’ve found it’s best to talk with your neighbor to decide the best way to work that out.  Some people split it so that one person gets the bottom 4’ and the other gets the top 4’.  Others trade months.  Others just split it 2.5” and 2.5”.  It’s best to talk with your neighbor to find something that works for both of you.
